Quartz Countertops - Polished vs Matte

Matte-finished countertops are trending. Some manufacturers call them honed, and some use the term leathered, suede or river-washed. They’re beautiful, unique and tempting. They should however come with a word of caution.

Quartz stone surface is often chosen by people for its characteristically low maintenance. While that is true when it comes to a polished (glossy) finish, it does not apply to a matte finish. Non-polished material requires extra maintenance as fingerprint markings, oils on the skin, or even water spots will be more noticeable, harder to clean, and require more frequent attention.

POTENTIAL FIX:

To remedy this potentially disappointing outcome we suggest choosing lighter colour quartz with a matte finish or sticking to a polished surface.
